Those of you with NF-F12's...

...I have two questions for you. They are as follows.

 

• How quiet are they at about 50%?*
• How much air do they move at about 50%?*

* on a scale of 1-10, 1 being terrible, 10 being awesome.

at 50 dead silent. at 100% they're quiet enough that at 5 feet away my hdd is louder, at 50(4-5) I dont feel they move enough air for any cooling aio or air, but at 100 they move a fair bit of air, nothing like a delta 2500 but a good bit(7-8)

100% there audable but just sound like air, 7v or around 75% they make me check to see if they were spinning. I would run 75% and they push a lot of air, @7= 74,3 m³/h

7 they look HORRIBLE and are kind of overpriced compared to E loops and GTs.

I like the look of them, and my mom is buying them so price isn't an issue to me.

Have you really thought this decision through? You could a decent upgrade for the price of two NF-F12's... (New GPU, More Ram, SSD?)

 

It's your money though, if you want NF-F12's, go for it.

Lays will tell you, but he also can't stand the sound of a harddrive activity either, so....I think he might be more of silent freak than Linus. 

 

I have two of them in pull on my H220 and have them set to just shy of 1000rpm when I'm not gaming and they're extremely quiet.

Even if it is your mom's money, money is money, upgrades are upgrades, if she is going to give you $60 to have, then why not upgrade for something important? SSD? RAM? A dedicated GPU?

 

Maybe put the $60 towards dominator?

You have a point... I'll get the one NF-F12 and the fan controller (curse the fans Corsair puts in CXM PSU's) and then I'll ask her to save up so I can get a 550Ti or 750Ti. And Dominator will be all or most of my own money (other than money I am given). Luckily with grass cutting season FINALLY getting here, I can make at least $5 every weekend or every other weekend.

Makes no difference, as it will be plugged into a fan controller for its entire life.

 

EVERYTHING will be plugged into it, in fact, CPU fan included.

Since when are eLoops cheap? They cost me more than my NF-F12s.

You're better off with some Swiftech Helix fans, theyre 10$ and PWM and they have the same fan blade design as GT's.
