Popular Bitcoin Exchange, Mt. Gox, has Filed for Liquidation

The fate of all Mt. Gox users is closing... They will probably not get their bitcoins back as Mt. Gox has also stated that they have no plans to restart their business. They are now closing their business, leaving all the lost/stolen bitcoins gone forever.

This makes me feel bad for all the people who had a little hope left of retrieving their coins from Mt. Gox, and this is perhaps the reason that the value of Bitcoin will go down a little today.

for the last few months is has just been nothing but downhill for them sadly

Because I totally trusted money to the Magic the Gathering Online Exchange ><

 

Seriously people who trusted them deserved it, there were plenty of signs these guys weren't exactly the best place to transact money

People stupid enough to store their currency as bitcoins in a place like that deserves to lose them. Seriously, what were they thinking?

 

"I'll put all my life's savings in an account with a business that is not registered as a bank and does not have any collateral to guarantee my earnings' safety."

 

At least normal banks have a government backed insurance on your deposits.
