Good deal on Origin

Yeah, I know, Origin sucks. You can't even start downloads inside the Origin download. But, everyone needs it for BF4 and Crysis 3, so most people have it. Anyways, to the point. Dead Space is free on Origin right now. Yes, Dead Space 1. If you don't have it you should probably download it because that's pretty cool to have a $20 discount.

I finally just clicked download because I didn't want Origin bother me anymore.

I don't dislike Origin, but I wish I could have all of my games in one place and not have to jump around. There are so many good games, that force you to adapt to Origin.

 

Mass effect 3, Dead Space 3, Battlefield, TItanfall, Crysis 3.

Yup, downloaded DeadSpace a week ago. Origin has it "On the House".

 

From what I read, it's Origin's initiative to provide great games for free/amazing prices, and they hope this will help them garner more attention and to attempt to compete with Steam (doubtful on so many levels) but also to combat GreenManGaming's prices.

 

Also, from that article I read a while ago - This is just the beginning. This is the first part of their "initiative to satisfy gamers". There's more to come, and I hope they're all as good deals as this.

 

Which is always welcome on a Nerdorgy like this place.

 

Needless to say, thanks for posting this. I am sure many had no idea about this and will be glad you mentioned this.

I got it and never played it.

I am shocked they actually made it pop up that it is free, you know big it is a big no-no for free things in greedy companies.

Dead Space has its moments, but it's really not that bad. I would say nearly any Silent Hill game is far "scarier" than Dead Space.

 

Especially when DS becomes more of an action game toward the end. The last few levels just start throwing hordes of enemies at you and the game loses all of its creepy atmosphere. 

 

That being said, I really loved the first Dead Space. The Ishimura is a great setting for a creepy horror game and the art and sound design for the game are top notch. Not to mention, shooting the limbs off mutated dead fetuses is pretty fun...
