Is Powerline Affected by Home Power Usage?

Guest
Go to solution Solved by MrYuriy,

Powerline is good. I don't really have anything negative to say about it.

And no, the washer/dryer next door won't have any noticeable effect.

I may have to be moving upstairs where there is no connection to ethernet, and as our wifi is obnoxiously slow I would consider one of my only options is powerline. I'm a little concerned however, as the room right next to the place I'm going to be moving into holds the washing machine. As I know this uses a lot of power, will my internet speed falter because of it? I would also like to get some feedback from people who have used Powerline, I would like to know what the goods and bads are about it. Thanks.

As far as I know, no. I like powerline, I use it to get a better connection farther from my router. It works well and is a lot more stable than WiFi.

What about speeds? For example, I have a 30Mbps down and 2Mbps up. I'm expecting a slight decrease but not too much. How reliable is it?

i have a set of powerline adapters if you need any help just ask, what would you like to know,?? yes the washing machine will make a few diffrences but not that noticeable

the only con I can think of, we have a few outside automatic light, so now and again the lights will go off, but not very often, how old is your houses?

as the older the worse results you get

p.s its very reliable but unless I know the age of your house I cant tell you roughly what speed you will be getting?
