NH-D14 Prodigy Question

CJPowell27

I was wondering if an NHd-14 from Noctua would fit in the Bitfenix Pridigy with a DVD drive.

I have an H100 in right now but i have recently begun to use my DVD drive more often.

Would it fit with a DVD drive in?

Thanks

So you have an H100i with an optical drive? Do you just want to switch to air cooling? The H100i has better cooling performance, but not by much.

Case: Corsair 4000D Airflow; Motherboard: MSI ZZ490 Gaming Edge; CPU: i7 10700K @ 5.1GHz; Cooler: Noctua NHD15S Chromax; RAM: Corsair LPX DDR4 32GB 3200MHz; Graphics Card: Asus RTX 3080 TUF; Power: EVGA SuperNova 750G2; Storage: 2 x Seagate Barracuda 1TB; Crucial M500 240GB & MX100 512GB; Keyboard: Logitech G710+; Mouse: Logitech G502; Headphones / Amp: HiFiMan Sundara Mayflower Objective 2; Monitor: Asus VG27AQ

I tried to fit the hyper 212 cooler in my prodigy but it wouldnt fit on my gigabyte board. My ram was too high and also i found out my GPU was to close anyway. So just make sure your GPU is not in the way either.

Thought i should add why not go external for your dvd drive.

I have to open up my case almost daily and have it plugged in super ghetto. It's only an H100

I already have a dvd drive and I don't want to have to buy an external :(

I can tell you after installing a 212 Evo into a Prodigy, it's going to be a damn nightmare to get that thing in. You'll have <3mm clearance on the standoffs the whole way in.

Possible, but damn tricky

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X - CPU Cooler: Deepcool Castle 240EX - Motherboard: MSI B450 GAMING PRO CARBON AC

RAM: 2 x 8GB Corsair Vengeance Pro RBG 3200MHz - GPU: MSI RTX 3080 GAMING X TRIO

Did you have a GPU in your build with low profile ram

Yes. I had to install the GPU after placing the mobo in, and the RAM was installed when I put the board in

Depends on the board as my gigabyte board cpu socket was to close to the gpu so the 212 didnt fit.

I used an F2A85XN-WIFI. Had maybe 5mm of clearance between the Evo and the GPU. Used the EPS 12V cable to force the GPU and Cooler apart without putting too much strain on the socket. Has worked well.
