audio headset headphone

my previous headset broke and I've been trying to find a decent headset for 2 weeks now.

i live in Greece.

my currency isn't the dollar, it is the euro.

please do not be turned off by the last two facts.

i'm looking for a closed back headset with a mic that helps someone i'm talking too to understand(the mic doesn't have to be great)

i will potentially use the headset for music but mostly for gaming and watching films.

my budget is 70 euros or around 100 dollars.

i am not an audiophile, so any decent headset will do.

If your not interested in sound quality but want something that will last then get the Microsoft headset lifechat series,  they are pretty solid, good mic, don't need drivers, only $20 and closed (on ear). I have a pair that I don't care about and as such I abuse them daily but they don't break.

Outside of that their aren't many options for a good headset in that price range, most people complain of them breaking.

what about without a mic?

without a mic get a decent set of headphones anything upto $100 will get you some awesome hard wearing headphones. I am personally using the hd280pro's at the moment, they are well built and closed,  but will also come in at top of your budget, of you want something cheaper you can look at the superlux stuff (most people agree they are awesome for the money.

what is your opinion on Audio Technica?

The stuff I've heard was good,  They certainly make good mics (but that's another story).  Unfortunately where I live there aren't too many places to check them out, and I am not in the habit of buying phones just to see what they sound like.

what is your opinion on Audio Technica?

I'm using the ATH-M50 and they are great. The build quality is really really good, the coiled cable is top notch and the sound is suberb! The downside is that after about 3 hours of using them my head starts to hurt a bit cause they are really tight and the fact that i wear glasses doesnt help either but that's manageable. I would buy a good headset ( like these audio technica i have or some seinheiser) and buy a 20€ mic ( i got one for 15€ i believe from a brand called platronics, it's not the best but its excellent for the value).

If you don't want to spend more than 70€ and don't want to buy a separate mic/headphone then you're gonna have a pretty bad time cause a "decent" pair of headphones with a mic is gonna cost you more than 100€ for sure, unless you settle for a crappy one. Save some more and get a good pair of headphones and a stand alone mic. That's my opinion = )
