Headphones and Mic, or Headset?

mclainlk

I recently got about $150 and I need a good audio solution for gaming (I need a mic). The two obvious options are headset, or headphones with a mic (either built in or stand alone). I don't really like the headset option, because I want to be able to use them with my phone around town (and not feel a huge bulky headset on my head) any ideas, what would you guys recommend for about $150?

Side Note: I'm open to ear buds also!

I agree with nix, exceptmaybe a blue snowflake if you want too.

He wants to use them around town so closed would be better.

CHC Silverados are still on sale for $79 over at Amazon. They are normally a $200 pair of headphones and they fold up so they are a bit smaller for better portability.  I would suggest you grab those and a modmic or Blue snowflake/snowball. The snowball is bigger and slightly overkill but usually only $10 more than the snowflake so your call.

i dont think you need a sound card, but you may need an amp/dac and i dont really know what is good or not, but i do know that the headphones by themselves with just on board sound will be just fine
