Corsair raptor HS30 review.

I bought this as a newegg shellshocker for $25 to replace my old crappy headphones. Well worth it.

 

 

 

 

 

Pros:

 

-Comfortable. You can barely notice them on your head besides the extra weight (not too heavy though). If you wear glasses like me it might get uncomfortable after awhile, but it's like that with all headsests. The headband tends to put a bit of pressure on the top of your head, but other than that it gets an 8/10 for comfort.

 

-Ambient noise gets kept out pretty well so you can't really hear the sound of your computer too much.

 

-Fits big ears. My ears stick out a bit and these fit in it just fine.

 

 

 

Cons: 

 

-Mic quality. It's not terrible, but it's rather quiet. When I tried turning the mic volume up it distorted the voice a bit to the point where quiet was better.

 

-Cable doesn't break at the headphones. This tends to cause tugging if you get the volume adjuster stuck on something like the edge of your desk.

 

 

 

I didn't list sound quality mainly because it's a middle ground. It was better than the crap headphones I had before, but it's not as good as a $200 pair of bose or sennheisers. If you're used to these you'll probably think this audio is terrible. In terms of gaming, the positional audio is just fine, so I can hear if someone is creeping up on me, etc.

 

 

 

Overall: Good. Gaming. Budget. Headset. For $25, it was definitely a good buy.
