How to actually mod

Tole2378

What do you mean how to mod? "Modding" is not one thing, it is a skill of learning how to do all the things. xD

You will never learn to "Mod" by just watching videos, but that is certainly a good way to start.

I would recommend watching a ton of mnpc-tech videos and then trying to do some in real life.

I wouldn't mod just because of it. But if you want to create stylish machines then go ahead.

I just like looking into my machine and thinking about what to do next and tinkering with it in my mind, what i could improve. And then i just try to find the best way to di it, and do it. Little example: all those multi colored wires from front USB/ power connector etc.... i don't like them so i think about getting some plasti dip and giving them a coating.

For big mods.... i guess you need to be a bit skilled at crafting stuff and you need at least some tools. :D

who cares...

it depends on what you want to mod.

Do you want to add a window?

different spray paint?

Arms and legs coming out of your case (or other things)?

case modding is infinity first get your case or create on of your own draw plans and then try to realize it.

don't hurry and don't speed up the process every good mod takes time and if you take 2 or 3 extra hours to finish it you will be looking at your case more often and it will look better.

@Tole2378 what you mean yes on all the questions ?

if you say yes to all you need to build your own case from scratch that will be the cheapest and most flexible way to work.

also you can do what ever you want for airflow etc or to hide cables and hdd.

If you want to get a hands on learning experience in case modding or building a case, I'd probably suggest getting your hands on an old PC case or a very cheap one and take a crack at it if your a hands on learner. Following guides is always a good start and you'll learn about materials and the construction process of a PC case. With this I'm assuming you already have a good understanding of tools and general set of skills.

Depending on what you have planned we can give you more in-depth information.

It depends on how you learn, some people are better at giving them the tool and letting them have at it with some instruction of course others work better with a very structured plan. I'm guessing probably following tutorials and modelling off existing designs are your best bet.

Side note those do exist for medical training.
