vertical/ horizontal lines when gaming

Faz592

As the title said, im getting vertical, sometimes horizontal lines and ive had one black screen, the audio keeps going on a loop and the pc completely freezes, when i reboot the cpu is never over 50degrees C. Not overclocking or anything stupid like that... any ideas?

CPU bottlenecking your GPU, that's the only thing i can come up with.

What is your PC spec/configuration. Is this during normal use? during gaming? during movies?

ASRock FM2A88X+ Killer Motherboard

AMD A8 6600K 4-Core Processor

Sapphire Radeon R9 280X Dual-X OC 3GB

running 50' samsung smart LED tv

i have been told i may be up against bottlenecking,

i will be getting a corsair h90 watercooler late next month, so i may try some light overclocking then, fata1ty tuner seems fairly easy to use if i can get some advise on here.

I recommend just saving up for an i5 and a nice board with it.

Get rid of that A8, it is definitely holding back performacne, either i5 4670k or i7 4770k depending on budget

try turning your second card off and see if the lines persist? or maybe run the game at lower settings and see if the lines persist

only just built this pc, was stupid and didnt post on here for ideas lol, so budget is very minimal for a new cpu/board.

it has done it to me on ghosts and bf4 both running top settings for about 30 or so mins , but could play nfs shift for about 3hrs straight and no problems.

if the overclocking and watercooler doesn't work at least iil have the cooler for a new cpu haha
