Nintendo DS Lite Battery Recommnedation

xnamkcor

I was looking for a replacement battery for my DS Lite. I know I'll lose my account info.

Nintendo wants 15 USD(Plus about 5 dollars for shipping) for their 1000mAh battery.

Deal Extreme wants 7.50 for a "2000mAh" battery, but reviews indicate either false claims or stale batteries.

BatteriesPlus wants 13.00 and I can go to a store.

Does anybody know of a trustworthy site that sells and Extended battery? I'm fine with something sticking out or bulging, like the Nyko 3DS battery.

Apparently, the original DS battery will not work, so batteries meant for that system won't work.

As of now, my plan is to get one from BatteriesPlus.

Just buy the official ds lite battery from nintendo altogether its $20 nothing much.

At least this way you no it's coming from a trusted source, besides the ds lite battery life is very good

If I could buy it without paying shipping, like a retail store, I would definitely pay for the official one.

I've already considered that the official one is official.

BatteriesPlus is also a trusted source.

20 USD is not "nothing much" for me.

I've also considered buying a USB battery charger, since the charging cable I have is a USB wall charger and a USB-DS charger. So I can charge from any USB source.

Edit: This may be my solution.

Maybe find some way to attach it? 3M strips that use their version of Velcro(the interlocking plastic nibs).

a 5200mAh USB battery pack is something I'd be willing to pay 20 dollars for.

I'm a bit confused about what you mean. My DS Lite battery basically never ran out, it's lasted me months without charging. So I assume you mean a 3DS battery? Especially given that you mention the Nyko battery pack.

Either way the best bet would probably be the USB battery pack option and then just use that to charge it when it's running low. Both because there's less chance of getting a dud but also because if it doesn't work in the way you want you can still use it to charge your phone and other devices.

Fools think they know everything, experts know they know nothing

My DS broke and the battery has been sitting in storage, unused, for 5 plus years.

I recently bought a working DS that didn't come with a working battery, so I transplanted my battery into it.

Also, I mentioned the Nyko because it was a good example of a well-designed extended battery pack.

"Just use that to charge it when it's running low". Depending on the speed of the charging, I may just use it whenever I'm playing. Or at least 3/4 empty.
