I'm going to take a guess and say that this is a laser mouse with its 200-12k DPI? Not interested anymore :/

No, it is not. It's a infrared sensor without acceleration, prediction or pixel-rounding.

Well I just got a G602 and id be pretty pissed at logitech if they were to do this(thank god they arent) plus it would be pretty stupid came out only a year ago and it would already be irrelevant

But that's kinda the point, new better products replace the old and most tech has a replacement after a year. You're getting mad at the thought of innovation because it would make your mouse that is over a year old less impressive. That's like me complaining because the GTX 780ti out performs my 4 year old GTX 580. The bottom line is that when you buy ANY tech a year after it's release, you're going to get screwed over. "Buy new or get screwed" Welcome to tech  :)

that is not true. i bought a da 2013 a year ago. is there a new one? no. also its no true for all tech in general. for example microphones or headsets or stuff like that can be out for several years before a new version comes out. so yes maybe i did make a mistake buying the g602 this late(but then again in the end i bought it because its wireless and the 502 is not so i guess i shouldnt comapling so much) but still what you said isnt true not EVERY type of tech gets upgraded every year

but anyway lets put this behind us. i guess i did complain too much. in the end im happy with my g602 and i never really cared for interchangable weights in mice and i wanted to get rid of a cable, i wanted an optical sensor with no accel or prediction and i wanted a mouse that i would finally be able to palm. i shouldnt have complained in the 1st place since the g602 met all of my expectations(but the LOD could still be lower it kinda annoys me and the battery indicator in the G software is kinda bugged it shows only 3 lines sometimes even though the mouse is actually still at 5 lines

Looks the tits, although I don't think I could cope with a wired mouse after using the G700 for so long. Ahh kitguru, they banned me from their facebook page after I rumbled a joke they made which was from a technical stand point wrong, they didn't take kindly to that.

Lol...the slogen...

"Science wins" ... in my head i added "because science!" :D

My last Logitech Mouse was a MX510 wich had a broken cable connection on the mouse...so i switched to Steelseries.

Maybe i should look into the new mice from them...it's been some time since the MX510...

we were already talking bout this in another thread as logitech was slowly leaking things out

Right after I saw the release that it was the G502 not the G702 I had a chat with a friend who's also a logitech fan. Here is my side of the chat withe some random thoughts. Sorry its not complete sentences or even complete thoughts but I really didnt want to retype it all.

its like they mashes a G500s with a G700s

ill still get it cause it looks comfy

but from what I can see there are only 3 buttons by the thumb

which I can work with but prefer 4+

whats with that crazy high DPI though.... I thought they had learned their lesson with the G602

and other companies are now starting to have good optical variants

the only thing I can hope I guess is that it has a 6000dpi optical sensor and the 12000 is from doubling it like whats on the Steel Series Sensei

I need to read and look a bit more they have more info on their facebook

you can preorder directly but they dont have a date just like the wireless sensei did recently

I dont like preording something without at least a prospective date

also preordering from logitech has been a nightmare

its happened to me before with the G600 and I said never again

so i usually wait and preorder on newegg or just purchase it the day of launch

o fuck its wired >.>

I guess their first official wired with that shape/style though so it might be a winner

I think this might have been a response to so many people using the G700 wired 100% of the time

just played a few games with my G500s and I can definitely make that many buttons work and now that theyre bigger it should be even better

also im just not as fond as that old egg shape as I was when it was their new standard so this should solve that

Logitech posted this review by Newegg's GameCrate. I was a bit confused by the fact that newegg now has their own separate review thing. I guess their getting into ever corner of the market now.

The most interesting thing I found was actually in the comments.

Pawz2142: Is the DPI adjustable in 50,100, or 200 increments?

Guest: 50 until ~1800, then it goes in 100s.

I think this confirms my idea that after a certain point that there are just multiplying the base resolution. This is good thing but i really wish they would restrict it to or at least tell you which ones are a exact multiple of the sensors resolution. The last thing that made me think was that he said the 50 increments stop at 1800. The Razers software recommends 1600-1800 for the DA 2013. Its sensor the max it goes to is ~6400 which is roughly half of the G502. the Da 2013 is also infrared, which is what logitech's "Delta Zero Sensor" stands for. From that I think that there is a good chance that the two mice share the same sensor.

seriously.......they don't put hyperscroll on the 602 but they put it on this? dafuq Logitech?

for gaming only I prefer not having it as even in click mode the clicks arnt that distinct and feel loose.

No! That would make the 602 useless

Not useless I would just like it less for gaming which is its main purpose for me. The G700s is a better productivity mouse and being that its designed off the Performance MX it makes sense that it has it.

I'm waiting for reviews and price reveal. It's time to replace my 6 years old MX518.  :)

Edit: $79.99 on Logitech's website.

same on newegg and they have a release date actually, April 15th to be exact. i plan on egtting one though them because Logitech is always behind on their preorder shipping from my experiences.

OMIGHOSH. IFFFFF they make exactly the same mouse, but with a wireless version, I WILL buy it no matter what. Is there a way to contact them and send them a petition or something. I'm sorry guys, but I'm super stoked on it.

Could be a Logitech G 603, or 604. Or maybe call it G602 V2. The design is just stunning. I WANNAH NO WIRE. CAPICHE LOGITECH ?

I think they should and call it a G702 but its needs a few more buttons by the thumb and maybe a slight change to the ergonomics.

Please tell me that's not glossy plastic on the buttons :(

probably is? most of the non main buttons have been like that on logitech mice for some time.

i own a Performance mx, g700, g700s, g602.

soon this will be in my possession aswell, it looks like its gonna be great for FPS.

The only mouse that i disliked was the G602 because @ and no left/right scrollwheel.

looks like this 02 will fix that.

Dude im with you but I cant wait for the G702 ;)

oh and your missing the MX Revolution and MX 1100 :P

Well I just got a G602 and id be pretty pissed at logitech if they were to do this(thank god they arent) plus it would be pretty stupid came out only a year ago and it would already be irrelevant

Its not at all it has more buttons, is wireless, and runs on normal 1.5v batteries vs 1.3v NiMH ones. These mice arent even really competing against each other...

That would weigh like almost 200grams...

Theyll make it work removing the weight mechanism as well as the weights would help. Mice with the ergonomics of the G700/G700s take quite a bit of time between iterations compare to some of their other models. The main reason is is unlike the MX500/MX518/G400/G400s they change the mouse significantly every time but keeping the same ergonomics some how. That family looks something like this MX Revolution, MX 1100, Performance MX, G700, and G700s. I have a feeling that the G702 has actually been cooking for some time as the G700 is actually a older mouse that didnt even have the LGS originally and the G700s is just a slight change/improvement.

So, a wired G602 with weight tuning. I must say I'm a bit disappointed. Interested to see how the sensor performs, though. They are saying it's "flawless" in their press release. Also, up to 12 000 DPI. Hope you got your triple 4k monitors already to take advantage of all the DPI. :)

the only thing thats really the same would be the looks and styling...

up to 250 hours with 2 battery that weights down the mice no thanks. Not saying the g602 is bad but its 2500 dpi is a deal breaker and no wired mode means i continue to wait for that g702

use one battery? or do what i did shove some energizer ultimate lithium batteries in ther and just a much longer life and a considerably lighter mouse.

I'm going to take a guess and say that this is a laser mouse with its 200-12k DPI? Not interested anymore :/

its got a infrared optical sensor like most of the newer optical mice including their G100s, G400s, and G602.

No, it is not. It's a infrared sensor without acceleration, prediction or pixel-rounding.

That has to be on only certain DPI that are a even multiple of the sensor though. i cant wait to get my hands on it personally and see what up though.

that is not true. i bought a da 2013 a year ago. is there a new one? no. also its no true for all tech in general. for example microphones or headsets or stuff like that can be out for several years before a new version comes out. so yes maybe i did make a mistake buying the g602 this late(but then again in the end i bought it because its wireless and the 502 is not so i guess i shouldnt comapling so much) but still what you said isnt true not EVERY type of tech gets upgraded every year

-snip-

the DA in getneral does get that many updates or significant ones it just like the G400s they cant change to much and the chance has to be 100% for the better or their receive blow back from the long time fans.

Looks the tits, although I don't think I could cope with a wired mouse after using the G700 for so long. Ahh kitguru, they banned me from their facebook page after I rumbled a joke they made which was from a technical stand point wrong, they didn't take kindly to that.

Gotta agree with yo there that ones your used to wireless mice when you use a wired one your like do this mouse really need that wire that kinda annoying me cause im not use to having it there.

Because the battery dies so much that I have to keep charging it.
