I use this desk right here :D I don't have a link to the product because it seems to have been taken down from the store's site. Not my pic, but that's the desk.

It's called the Merge Corner Workstation if I recall correctly.

I would suggest choosing a nice table top and then getting two feet for it.

I used these:

Really good plain desk for really cheap.

I have that desktop in red and the cheaper variant of the legs. It's actually quite nice and can handle some abuse.

I prefer just a few meters wide, straight (not like a corner thingy that was posted above) and full-wooden. Can't stand the mdf-desks that have the coating peel off in like a year. The one I have now was like ~100€ in Ikea with the legs.

I have one glass desk and one cheap wood desk side by side with a thin plank of wood on the wooden desk to make it the same height.  It looks ugly, and... is probably ugly in functionality compared to a corner desk.  But it fits my needs... :(

I am using this desk

IMG_9000_zps7f7123c7.jpg

It's a custom design from National Furniture http://www.nationalofficefurniture.com/nof-find-furniture.htm, it might be a little high for most budget's, as it was $4000, but I linked the site just encase.

I also have this desk, which is my wife's desk

It's a Collins Executive Desk from Haverty's http://www.havertys.com/Product_43911 , With everything, cost, taxes, shipping and the extended care package, the total came to just shy of $1200 for this desk.

A desk not made from particle board.

I have this for the living room PC (computer on the floor) and really like it as it also makes a nice study desk. Writing on paper with pens completely ruins wood desktops, so I opted for the glass even though I knew it would be a dust/fingerprint magnet, but surprisingly I only have to clean it every month or so.

No drawers or anything fancy, and the keyboard tray can be annoying if you are a taller guy, but its a really sleek looking desk for cheap that has held up great for me.
