hi guys im just wondering i will get gtx 770 but could i still use hd 7870 for litecoin in the same pc ?

amd fx 6300  @4.4ghz @1.4/ga-970a-ud3/HD78702gb /antec 620w psu

Yes, the card doesn't have to function as a graphics card "per say" and can run off 1xPCIe electrically. simply down to space and power requirements, not to mention additional heat.

Honestly you are better off just selling the 7870, there is still a mining craze for AMD cards so their resell value is awesome. Could probably get $250 for the card on Craigslist.

i tried it with my 7870 xt(300 more stream processors, stupid marketing team didnt call it a 7930) anyways it didnt do well, at all, so its not work the trouble, better to sell imo, maybe sell the card and get more money for a more powerful gpu.

You would get like half that in Aus lol.

For a 7870, that's a massive price. You could still probably buy a new one for less than $250. The most I'd recommend selling for is $150, and that's if the condition is amazing, like barely run and never fully stressed.

You underestimate the ignorance of people trying to get into coin mining, I sold my 7950 for $400 and I could have EASILY gotten $450 or higher for it and this was before 280x's jumped in price. There are still people out there buying the cards for the inflated price which is why I said craigslist because there tends to be the more ignorant people there. So a 7870 for $250 is what you could expect if you find someone trying to get it for coin mining, 7870's were going for $300+ there for a bit.
