Need a phone upgrade.

So i am "Finally" getting the chance to upgrade to a smartphone, been using some blackberry phone for nearly two years *sadface*

I have been looking at the HTC One M8 and the Sony Xperia Z2. They both seem so similar but the camera on the on the Z2 just appeals to me but i know the camera isn't everything. Looking for a phone to kind of replace my laptop for school to listen to music, play games and browse the web ect. So what would you guys suggest.

I personally like the look of the Z2 better and they perform about the same.

Have you tried looking at Oppo find 7? I'm planning on getting one myself.

Looking for a contract phone. Can't get those phones on contract apart from the LG G2 but that doesn't interest me.

Try one of these:

Lumia 925

Lumia 1020

HTC 8X

Lumia 1520

Lumia Icon

Or wait for Lumia 930.

From all these other android phones i think the Z2 is probably the best.

And these phone have the same old cpu anyways, the Snapdragon 801 or whats called is just an Overclocked Snapdragon 800.

CPU: Intel Core i5 2500K 4,6GHZ OC MB: MSI Mpower z77  RAM: Kingston Genesis 1600Mhz CL9 16GB

GPU: ASUS R9 290 Direct CUII  PSU: Corsair AX 860

Ever thought of just getting a contract phone, selling it and using the money to buy a different device?

That's always an option. You don't have to use what they give you.

Of the two phones you listed I'd go with the M8. The Z2 is all right, but Sony hasn't had the greatest track record with displays, and it has a glass back. Which is prone to breaking.

The HTC has gotten excellent battery life in tests so far, and has awesome build quality.

Hah, don't go with the HTC 8x. That thing is ancient and really wasn't that great of a phone. The Icon has battery life issues, and the 1520 is huge.

Though if you like the 1520, it would be ideal for a laptop replacement. The app selection isn't the greatest though.

1020's ok, mostly the camera is what makes it a stand out.

The 801 actually does offer some other improvements, it has better stand by power consumption and a few other improvements.

Didn't really think about selling the phone. So i think i will go for Z2 and if i don't like it i will get a HTC One M8. Thanks.

From what i have seen on hands on reviews the Sony Zperia Z2's display seems to be "allot" better than the Z1's.
