Reference Radeon HD 7770 2GB

Hello Everyone!

I need some help on deciding on a graphics card.

My first choice :

2 - AMD Radeon HD 7770 2GB In Crossfire.

OR

1 - AMD Radeon R9 280X OR 7970. Depending On Price.

My question is, How can you compare the performance of the  2 - 7770 Crossfire cards to the 280X Or 7970.

What would be worth getting ?

I Saw a few charts were the 2 - 7770 are neck to neck with the 7970.

Your help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Definitley go with the 280X. A single card is less hassle with drivers and doesn't have Crossfire perormance issues. Also 7770s are too weak cards for Crossfire. It just isn't worth it.

Crossfire is only worth with the high end cards, when you cant got even higher, so with a 280X, a 290 or the 290 X

who cares...

Don't ever crossfire or SLI unless your at the top two cards in the series, one more powerful card is always better that two less powerful ones so 280x all the way.

Thanks for all the replies!

I never crossfired before but I had some people say good things and then the bad things.

I mainly need a card for Editing and some gaming. I thought the 7770 Crossfire would be beneficial for my use but again I'm not totally sure on that.

For the money the AMD Reference 7770 2gb Would cost me $220 New for a pair.

I found a couple of Used 7970 cards around $250 and up.

The 280x cards are around $289 and Up New & used. I'm guessing a 280x is a Re-branded 7970 or I might be wrong.

Here's a video that will help. The 280X is better than the 7970, but not by too much.

Wow they are pretty close!
