If Steam didn't exist, would you still be a PC gamer?

DoubleY

i would be fine with it, im not a big fan of steam, but i see its usefullness, but i rather have a disk copy, and if steam goes away, then origin, it was a good thing. i hate origin so very much.

I would still play games on my PC, but I wouldn't play exclusively PC.

Yup. I still buy physical copies of games since they are much cheaper than what its worth on steam by around 40% [still require steam activation though :P], so saying goodbye to Steam wouldn't hurt me that much. I would however miss patches and the ability to redownload games if my machine were to crash.

Yis

Even with Steam, if the price of the physical copy of a game was the same as a digital copy, I'd rather buy a physical copy.

Would like to say... If PC gaming wasnt a thing... Gaming wont be a thing.

Technology wont be where it is now without the innovations computer games have brought.

Personally (I know this is gonna start an outrage) I think I would be a console gamer, one of the main reasons I switched over to PC in the first place was because of how acessible and cheap digital downloads are, and how easy it is to connect with friends through steam. Without Steam, I think I would be content with a console.

I'm that guy with the GPD Win.

Yes. Although my game library would be significantly smaller and I'd probably only buy games that I actually have intentions of playing.

Was a gamer long before steam, Still would have been.   Ahh.. The days of actually having to go to the local computer store to buy a oversized box with 1 CD rom / DVD in it.

I was a PC gamer before Steam. Used to have a lovely shelf of boxes back in the 90s. Almost miss them in a way.

hmmm I don't miss that. Took up too much space and always got dusty

The lack of sales would suck, but I'd still buy game discs and still continue playing PC games.
