Can I leave my HTPC running?

Hello,

I have my new HTPC rig up and running. I have been doing a burn in test and I have had my rig up and running for just over 3 days. I good temps and no crashes. My question is: Can I just leave my rig up and running without ever putting it to sleep? I use it mostly for my HTPC, with occasional audio work and web browsing. I figure, if I can, I would just leave it running and power it down when we are gone or something. I really want to know if not putting it to sleep with reduce its life or is generally just bad for the machine.

Thank you in advance for your help and all advice and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Yeah as long it runs cool enough you can leave it running for a lifetime.

My pc has been off for about 30 minutes since Christmas. So yes it's fine.

Yup, just make sure you have it protected from power surges and the like.

Yes

do you have a cooler on the cpu?

Yes, I have the stock cooler on my i5 4570. During the 3 day test, the average temps are between 28-30C. Is that cool?

28-30 is fine, you can leave that running, if you want it to last longer, you could get an aftermarket cooler on it
