Fear not, I have encountered such a predicament in the past and I have a series of precise steps for you to follow in order to determine if your graphics card is working properly

  1. Turn on your computer
  2. Open Steam
  3. Run a game
  4. Play the game

If your computer spontaneously combusts make sure to tell it to stop drop and roll

Also don't forget to spread peanut butter in your internet vents

Who would forget that?

So that's it, if it works?

In all seriousness, if you'd like to monitor your GPU, get a program like MSi's afterburner.

This will show you everything from core clock to GPU usage to fan speed and core temperature.  If your GPU does things, afterburner will show you what it's doing.
