Might a stupid question but: Should I spend my saved money (about 2500-3000€) when the new Nvidia and Intel stuff is out, or should I spend only the half of my savings on a new pc and build my dreammachine when I finished university (in a few years )?

It's a difficult decision because of this large amount of money. Maybe you guys have some advice?

BTW this rig would be a black and orange themed build featuring an i7 4770K, GTX 770 or 780 SLI, SSD, H100i, Xonar STX, 16GB RAM etc. Main use would be gaming, videoeding and normal stuff and it should last for a while. No secoundary PC planned...

I think you have to remember that university often times bring unexpected expenses (They do here in denmark for sure), and I think you would have more time to enjoy it later on. So spend a good 1000 bucks on a pc now, and save the rest for later.

Mine would have a 3570k and a 680 at this moment.

Right now I have a i5-2400 and a 550Ti. I have a pretty new computer right now, so there isn't much I'd want to upgrade. I mostly game on my PC, so its not the most expensive stuff on the market. There really is no reason to go i7, let alone x79 for gaming. a 680 would destroy games on my 1920x1080 monitor, so I'd be good with that.

Old shit no one cares about but me.

A dream build? I like the idea. It's not in fact stupid at all. All people wish or dream of having something, it's apart of being human.

This is my current dream build. I like to keep it somewhat modest, not picking all the most expensive items. Nice to keep our dreams a little bit within reach, don't you think? Something to reach for...

CPU: Intel 3960x, but bought after Haswell is out, which should lower the price of admission.

MB: Asus Rampage IV Extreme.

GPU: Dual MSI GTX 680 Lightning.

RAM: GSkill Ripjaws 2133, 4 x 8Gb.

Sound: Asus Xonar Essence One Muses Edition.

Boot/Games: Samsung 840 pro 256Gb x 2, RAID 0.

Storage: Seagate Barracuda 3TB 7200RPM x 6, RAID 10.

PSU: Seasonic SS-1000XP Platinum.

ODD: Asus Blu Ray burner.

Cooler: SwiftTech H220.

Case: Silverstone Fortress FT04, black, ? still not totally set on this choice.

Speakers: AudioEngine A5, REL Stentor III sub.

Headphones: Grado Labs PS1000.

Display: Dell U2713 27" monitor.

Keyboard: Logitech G710+.

Mouse pad: Mionix Enisis 320 Luna.

Fans: All Cougar Vortex, with two Enermax Vegas 140mm up front.

As you can see, audio is very important to me; not just clean, crisp graphics and gameplay. PC would do double duty as gaming and video/photo editing rig.

You should lower your power supply. Maybe to a SeaSonic Platinum 860?

Actually, I didn't forget - I just never have found a really great, awesome mouse that I like. Honestly. I mean I could have looked up the most expensive mouse on eBay and just listed that, but I really want this list to be real - I mean that stuff that I genuinely would get for myself.

Any mouse suggestions/recommends would be welcome? I have larger hands, like to palm my mouse and it needs to be corded, not wireless.

Your probablly right about the PSU.

Seasonic 860W Platinum probablly would be more than enough. Good point.
