UHD (4K) 60hz / Resolution Problem, After Windows 10 Clean Install

Go to solution Solved by Goodmane,

Going back to 353.30 Drivers made it work. Now I can set my display to 60hz. And I blocked every Microsoft and Nvidia related internet activity on my computer so they won't ruin working stuff.

Hello everyone

Last night I've decided to upgrade the Windows 10. After 6 hours I was kinda impressed with some of the features but I made some wrong choices with the services and computer just booted with PowerShell command line. Since it was an upgraded OS installation I just did a clean install of Windows 10.

Here's the thing; I was using my Philips 288p in 3840x2160@60hz in Windows 8.1 after the update, since it carried drivers/programs/settings (basicly everything) over to new windows, it kept working as ***( I THINK)*** 60hz. I haven't checked the settings after Windows Upgrade because I was mainly focusing on what to block and what to do to prevent Microsoft killing my Adsl connection.

Now after clean install I can't get my monitor to run at 60hz. I haven't tried any games but in desktop it's just unbearable. And on top of that, if you try to change resolution, It actually doesn't change resolution, it just fills screen with out changing resolution. So If you set resolution to 2560x1440, it's actually 2560x1440 being displayed at 3840x2160.

And after entering Nvidia control Panel;

As you can see it's a messed up resolution table... Actual resolution is displayed first, then the resolution of trickery.

Setting Custom resolutions in Nvidia Control panel doesn't work to get around the issue. I've also tried installing the driver of the monitor.

And my second monitor is 120hz 1080p.

But it doesn't apply 120hz refresh rate... It just reverts back to 60hz.

I have Gtx Titan, with 359.00 drivers using DP 1.2 cable for 4K monitor and Dvi-D for my 120hz monitor which both worked perfectly fine before.

Any help is appreciated.

Edit: Monitor is set to DP 1.2 input not 1.1

Check Windows Update. Might be a Windows issue fixed with patches.

And you don't need to worry about the data collection kiling your ADSL. Most of it is in text format, and that can be heavily compressed without loss. You shouldn't see idle Windows use more than 1Mb/s, unless it's downloading updates.

1Mbit is 1/4th of my internet connection speed. It causes extreme lag in games. If you were talking about Mbyte I don't even see those numbers...

And there are no updates to windows.
