Corsair H110i GT in a Fractal Design R5 with window or NZXT H440?

Go to solution Solved by Tedster,

Hi, I am building a new system and am looking for an estetically pleasing build. Parts List:  http://pcpartpicker.com/p/64HzQ7

I am looking at getting either the fractal design r5 or the NZXT red and black H440 and any other good cases suggestions are welcome.

My question is would it be fesable to mount the H110i GT in the top of the NZXT case or the Fractal design case, and if so would overclocking still work well even with the minimal ventialtion that the two cases have?

  Thank you

The radiator will fit fine in the R5 and appears as though it fits fine in the H440, at the top.

I would personally put that in the front and instead of the Define R5 I would use the Define S, but your mileage with that depends on whether you need to mount a lot of HDDs in all likelihood.

And ventilation wise I think you should be fine in either case. You might want to add a couple more fans but that's a pretty nice cooler.

Lastly, that PCPP link doesn't seem to work. You added a space.

Seeing that you plan on using NF-F12s I'm pretty confident that you should be fine in either case. However I think that you should probably go with an R9 390/x over the GTX 970 as it will perform better.

Sig under construction.

Well it was a pain in the dick mounting my H100i in my H440 the way I wanted it, so there's that.

I recommend getting aftermarket fans for the H110i with whichever case you decide to go with.

it should work now. How many more fans should I add? I already bought the GTX 970 because nvidia software is soooo much better and the little bit of extra performance that the 390 gives just isn't worth it. Also I will only have an sdd and a hard drive, so I don't need many hdd cages

Should have no issues.  Was able to fit a nzxt x61 in an h440.

did you have any issues with the rear fan or your mobo?

I have two NF-F12 iPPCs on mine. I love them. They look fantastic and as far as I can tell do a fantastic job.

Nope, it was cutting it close to the mobo though so you won't be able to do a push/pull configuration since the rad is thicker than average.
