Folding on a e4300 and a gs8400 worth it?

Go to solution Solved by themctipers,

As long as F@H works on the hardware and the PSU won't make your house catch fire...

Yes.

I'm not too sure that the graphics card is compatible.

Just tried, doesn't work

I don't think either of those are supported anymore... Give it a shot none the less, if it doesn't work at least you have a running slice of the past :D

Doesn't work, use it as an freenas server! xD

I found this legendary pc in the basement that still works. I can reinstall windows xp on it and fold. Should I? The psu is really shit (not 80+)..

Core 2 duo e4300

180gb hdd (xp preinstalled)

Cheap Chinese power supply (not even 80+)

Nvdia gs 8400

Asus P5Q

2gb ddr2 ram

Ryzen 5 3600 stock | 2x16GB C13 3200MHz (AFR) | GTX 760 (Sold the VII)| ASUS Prime X570-P | 6TB WD Gold (128MB Cache, 2017)

Samsung 850 EVO 240 GB

138 is a good number.

As I like to call it, Folding is to Boinc as Windows is to Linux. The first is more known and easier to setup, but once you take your time to learn and setup the second, it's just so much better in every way!

It's a shame not that many people know about it....
