How would this work as a splitter?

I don't wanna have to push a button behind my xbox, crammed into my entertainment center. Well that would be fine for me, but it's my mom's xbox and she would not put up with that lol.

I understand. Running cables using that box gets weird.

If you get a splitter, get a powered one like one similar to this http://www.monoprice.com/Product?p_id=8204&gclid=CKvFjfD8s8gCFdYXHwodDVIL0A&kpid=108204

I have been looking into a few options for eliminating the need to stream my xbox, which creates latency and cause video compression.

I have been reading around, and I see that a longer HDMI cable might degrade the signal, which can introduce the exact effects I'm trying to circumvent.

So what I need is 1. A splitter to run 2 outputs from the upstairs xbox one, 2. A long ass HDMI cord.

I have seen some solutions where people use 'hdmi extenders' that use ethernet to extend the signal. We have 1000' of Cat 5 at my house and the equipment to terminate it.

What I am wondering is there's anyone here with experience with this. Anyone use hdmi splitters, extenders, or a 50-100ft HDMI cord?

Thanks yalls.

Tried using a 100ft HDMI cable that was really really well shielded. No noticeable picture quality degradation but there was added latency from the console to the screen, not enough to be horrible but enough to be noticed.

Well thats good :( But I am super loosing at Gears of War because the input delay. Everyone is half a second ahead of me. I loose every battle when I stream and the input delay is the most frustrating part. I could handle compression to an extent.

Get a hdmi cable with a repeater. That way the signal does not degrade the longer it gets. Monoprice has some good "slim" ones with repeaters for a decent price.

Also I bought one of these which works as a 1x2 or 2x1 switch and is powered entirely by the HDMI cable. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DTP2FUG?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00 It may not be the splitter you're looking for, but it works pretty damned well for 1 signal to multiple outputs.

Also, I doubt that a long HDMI would be causing any input lag. More often than not, its the TV and its post processing thats causing lag.

Alright, the solution seems clear now. A powered splitter and a long HDMI with an extender.

Thanks again LTT! Saving me $350+ not having to buy my own xbox one lol .
