980ti SLI Issues

PCEnthusiastLuke
Go to solution Solved by PCEnthusiastLuke,

what are your PC specs? Motherboard especially...

do you have an SLI bridge?

Yes, I use the one that came with the first 980ti, I have not tried the other one however... I'll do that now

Recently I purchased and installed a second 980ti to my system, and up until today I have had no troubles with it.

The second GPU has been in my system for a week, and today my PC will not boot.

I installed a speaker to my motherboard and received a beep code similar to 1 long beep, followed by 3 shorter beeps... After some research I found that this is a video card error! :(

Where do I go from here to try and fix the problem?

Regards,

Test both GPU's on their own, in both PCIe slots

Alright I'll have a go at that, I'll post again here in 10 minutes or so.

Just done this, moving each graphics card into each slot on their own produces the same results on all 4 occasions.

Atleast provide some additional information about your system...

We can't do anything with "lolz it dsnt wrk, halp".

I have an Intel Core i5 4690k @ 4.4GHz, 850w PSU, MSI gaming 7, 16GB corsair RAM, 2 x 980ti

Found the problem!

As SeanAngelo mentioned, I swapped out the SLI bridges I had and it booted!

A very strange dilemma, but it seems to be fixed now :)
