Is Hyper TX3 evo good enough for i5-3470?

Go to solution Solved by kameshss,

Yes!

Better than Stock Cooler.

Similar performance to 212 evo.

Go for it.

Hi,

I just bought a second hand i5-3470 but did not get the stock cooler with it. Which means I have to buy one.

I am not going to overclock, but I am going to be gaming on this PC.

Will Hyper TX3 Evo be good enough? I could buy 212 evo but it will cost me around 15 USD more.

Also, does the thermal compound come in the package with the cooler or do I have to buy myself?

Thanks very much!

I had a TX3 on an older AMD computer, and it did pretty good better than the stock cooler did.  If you didn't get the stock cooler then I'd say hell go with it!

EDIT ~ Yes it comes with a tube of CM thermal compound.

The stock cooler ig "enough" so anything is better than that i guess. U cant overclock that CPU so maybe look on ebay for a stock cooler or buy a cheap after market cooler.

Should be plenty, and I am pretty sure that thermal paste is included (as far as I can gather from reviews).

I used to have a TX3. I wouldn't really recommend it as the pins are so cheap in the installation they break easily and is hard to install.

Ended up breaking 2 pins when I had to switch it with another cooler.
