Building my pc, have a problem with my psu cpu connector

Go to solution Solved by Ceatra,

just put them together... done, it's so because there are motherboards that only need a 4pin CPU connector :D

Hello everybody :)

I'm building my first pc since 5 years, everything went good until I started to start my cable management. ( for completion, my pc http://de.pcpartpicker.com/p/TXG6f7 ( with a different ram )

I make it short.

I have one cable to power my CPU, and it is a 2x4 pin connector ( at least that's what the manual states)

but ( excuse the following words, I'm not a specialist) the first one ( from the 2x4 pin connector) has 2 round and 2 square connectors, which is fine with my motherboard ( Image 3) but the second 4 pin connector only has 4 round connectors. Can I still use it as my manual states as a 2x4 pin connector or does it simply not work and I have to take one 4 pin connector to power my CPU. You can look at the pictures for better understanding ( I know, what wonderful drawing skills)

Thank you and I could really use your help :).

If it's your CPU connector, and it fits, it sits. If you're honestly worried about frying something, you could always check the pins with a multimeter.

Looks like you took the correct advice and put them together, combined both to make one solid 8 pin.

Also, love that you took the time to draw out the pins and take pix! That makes everyone who is trying to help troubleshoot your issue have such an easier time! Props on that, seriously! Wish more people did that.
