Best budget tablet for a 8 year old girl.

Go to solution Solved by cragger89,

I went through some £20-£30 tablets 2 Christmas ago for my step daughter who has a reputation for being a gadget destroyer.

They are OK until say, an update for an app is being performed in the background. Then they're unusable.

Get the 2013 version of the Nexus 7. They're cheap now but decent enough spec to not anger the kid and cause you grief. You know your child well enough to decide whether she is ready for such a device or not. I don't see any point in going for a cheap, naff product aimed at kids if something as good as the Nexus 7 is so cheap.

I don't know much about tablet's and i could use your help fellas.

I want to buy my 8 year old daugther her first tablet. Something with a big screen(7-10"), mid-end guts, enough memory to store stuff and a sturdy build quality.

I want her to be able to play some nice looking games, (smooth) , surf the web, take photos(?)

I also don't want to annihilate my budget. Much obliged.

-insert back in my day here-

i think it *may* be about 5 years too early for your daughter to get her own device...

but if you insist: first get the cheapest crappiest thing you can find, and if she is caring enough to not break it, thats the moment to get her something decent.

Bro have you seen 5-6 year old kids walking around with hands me down Iphone 4's and 5's from their mummy and daddy xD

As for OP, I recommend:

Kobo Arc 7 HD which has 1920x1200 resolution and Quad Core @ 1.7Ghz. Here it's only 85-99 euro!

Open your eyes and break your chains. Console peasantry is just a state of mind.

MSI 980Ti + Acer XB270HU

Nah, shes a well mannered child. Not a spoiled brat. She takes good care of everything she gets. Thank you all for the help.

I will focus on this Nexus 7.
