Help Actually Building

Go to solution Solved by nims0c,

If you have another PC you can create a bootable USB drive with the media creation tool found here.

I'm up to the actual building process right now. Parts here -> PCPartPicker part list

i've connected Cpu, stock CPU fan, RAM and video card onto the motherboard ontop of the motherboard box, and the 24pin, 8pin cpu and 8pin gpu power connectors all pluged in with HDMI from Graphics card running to the monitor.

I turned it on by doing the short thing of the two power pins, everything's running and can enter BIOS

First Question of the day: do i need to update BIOS now? it's current version is F4 and the latest is F6 (http://www.gigabyte.com.au/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4953#bios) or can i assemble it into the Case now and worry about updates later.

also, I'm pretty sure the Graphics cards need to be in at least the x8 slot correct?

I'm not up to it yet but i'll need help with installing the OS. I'll buy the windows 8.1 from the microsoft store (the student version because it's like half the price) and from what i can tell I'm given a product key when purchasing. What do I actually put on the USB that i'll plug in to my new pc?

Any help is welcome and thanks in advance

BIOS Updates once OS is installed, make a bootable USB from Windows and Install.

You can update bios later

If the graphics card can fit, sure.

You need to put the extracted .iso Windows 8 boot folders into the USB then you can install the os
