Noctua and Low-Noise Adaptor Question

Revan654
Go to solution Solved by Philcat101,

ASUS' Software is great. you don't need an adapter. this was established in the video editing rig that Linus did once

1. Going be building my first PC shortly. I have Noctua NF-A14 PWM fans for both intake and exhaust fans, Should I use the Low-Noise Adaptor if I plan to use Asus Fan Xpert software?

2. I also have Corsair H110i GTX, I assume you don't want to add the adaptor and have Corsair link software control the PWM fans?

Current Build: Project Frost
Gaming Rig Build: Project Ice Dragon

The low noise adapters for Noctua fans simply lower the overall RPM for each fan making it quieter. I'm pretty sure that even if you use a 3rd party software tool to control the fans, they will only spin at the minimum and maximum levels that the LNA sets as it's an actual piece of hardware that limits RPM.

If you want to lower the overall noise level of your PC, I see no problem in using the LNA for your Noctua fans even while using ASUS Fan Expert software.

With regards to your CPU cooler and the Corsair link software, again, I see no problem in running the LNA's on those radiator fans and controlling the RPM with the Corsair Link software. Even with LNA's ON, the noctua radiator fans still produce a significant amount of static pressure. If you want the fans to perform at a higher level, simply increase the NF-A14 PWM fan's RPM to it's LNA max of 1200 RPM.

I hope this makes sense.
