Tractorman990
Go to solution Solved by thekeemo,

well an AC router if you are still on N if your on AC setup a repeater at the one place in his shop that gets signal

We have wireless internet throughout my house and my dad wants internet out in his shop but the signal is very weak when it gets there if it gets there at all sometimes and it is 125 feet away from my house is there any way to strengthen the internet signal and beam it to a router and then connect the router to my dads computer?

Thanks in advance.

So what just hook two of those up and get going

If you'll buy any 2 ASUS routers (Im sure other companies have it too) you can set one up by your modem as a "Wireless Router" and then you can take the other one and set it up in "Repeater Mode" closer to the other building.  Basically, it takes the original router and broadcast the signal normally, then the repeater router receives the signal and then rebroadcast it again from the new position.

Wireless Router Mode: "In wireless router/ IP sharing mode, RT-AC68W connects to the Internet via PPPoE, DHCP, PPTP, L2TP, or Static IP and shares the wireless network to LAN clients or devices. In this mode, NAT, firewall, and DHCP server are enabled by default. UPnP and Dynamic DNS are supported for SOHO and home users. Select this mode if you are a first-time user or you are not currently using any wired/wireless routers."

Wireless Repeater Mode: "In Repeater mode, RT-AC68W wirelessly connects to an existing wireless network to extend the wireless coverage. In this mode, the firewall, IP sharing, and NAT functions are disabled.

In Repeater mode, the DHCP-assigned IP address changes. Install and use the Device Discovery Utility to get the wireless router's new IP address."

Please spend as much time writing your question, as you want me to spend responding to it.  Take some time, and explain your issue, please!

125 feet is not that far, Maybe just run Cat 6 in a corrugated tube into the shop with its own AP on the end.
