Ordering led stripes from ebay

Ok so, thinking of lighting up my upcoming beast, and had an idea that if i order led stripes from ebay they are MUCH more cheaper than buying them locally.

Then thing is that i'm left wondering (might be a stupid question considering that there are not really risk involving when you think the basics of it... but gonna ask it anyway)

Are those Chinese-led stripes really safe? Is there a possibility that it might create some damage to my computer, if lets say like short circuit happens? It's connected by Molex so there if shortage does happen i think the PSU will handle it and not care so much, but just wondering... So is there really an difference from ordering like an Bitfenix led-stripes or led stripes from china?

Just for reference the BitFenix Alchemy cost's here 20€ for 30cm peace. From china the same strip costs like 4-5€... So the Bitfenix are 4x the price. I could fill my whole house with china led strips, when the same money i can do half of my pc with bitfenix's

They should be fine... After all, they are leds and most of the time, the more expensive ones have features like water resistance (bitfenix).

Big makes like BitFenix can be expensive. If you do go with cheap chinese then read the reviews, and try and read the reviews from people that have owned them for a few months/year, as with my experience they can be good, but some only last a few months, in fact they are the reason I started my store, so I could offer more higher quality and reliable LED's.

Have a quick look at my store before you decide. Our LEDs are designed for computers (But any strip should work). Our strips are similar lengths to BitFenix and contain more LEDs and options for the starting price of 11€.

You can pick the power cable length (10cm to 2 meters) Sleeving Colour (Black, Red, Orange. but can order other colours) and choose either a 3pin fan connector or 4pin molex, all our LEDs come with a LIFETIME warranty.

Our LEDs are simple, you pick what you want. I will then make it, and send it right to your door. All you do is open package, peel off the sticky back, stick you where you want them, plug in the strip and turn on your computer.
