i have a pair of AKG 242HD headphones and need a fitting sound card i have used a xonar DX until last week were it sadly did not survive the removal of the power cable. i currently use the onboard audio of my rampage v extreme witch is ok but it simply doesn't have the power to drive my headphones so i need a new card or something and recommendations that aren't going to ruin me.

something that would be nice to have would be the ability to connect headphones and speakers without using the frontpannel

headphone stats

Frequency Response 15Hz-25kHz

Maximum Input Power 200 mW

Input Impedance 55 ohms

If you just wanted to spend more money, I know a few kilobuck amps I can recommend you.

Implied point is that you probably don't need an amp but here's one that works so you don't need to complain any longer.

i am not an audio guy. i have no idea what to pick that why i asked for help. my headphones feel to quiet if i have to set the volume to 60% to make a movie watchable.

Why do people freak out when they have to turn up their headphones past 50%, yet still have more volume to go at their normal listening level?
