Best non overclocking motherboard with SLI?

Go to solution Solved by Faceman,

Didn't know that wasn't possible. The purpose of my rig is for gaming and video editing & rendering. So I guess what techguru said is right, i'm looking for a cheap z97 board.

Since you live near Microcenter, you should buy your CPU + mobo in store also.  Go for the unlocked i7, even if you don't overclock now, having the option to in the future will be very beneficial to both gaming and editing/rendering.

I'm looking for a motherboard that's not too expensive that supports SLI (2 GTX 970s) but not made for overclocking. Not really sure what to look for since there's so many.

I have a build of what I got so far: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/c7ThJx

Only Z series motherboards are going to support SLI.

What is the purpose of your rig? Gaming?

None. All motherboards that offer SLI also are Z87/Z97 mobos.

My arsenal: i7-9700k Gaming Rig, an iPhone, and Stupidity.

That full build you put together is very helpful! I'll go for the Asus Z97-AR then. Thanks everyone!
