About to start playing LoL, any tips?

Whenever I play a game I have low doubts of enjoying/getting into, I always just laugh at losses and stupid deaths. And try and just see the funny side of everything. I do that with everything though.

Oh LMAO summoner name is just Riot's fancy way of saying "In game name". Um different regions have different servers. Since I'm in Toronto, I would play on the NA servers. You would play on the Oceanic servers. I actually don't know if you can even add me LOL. I think I'd have to create an account on your server. Oh well .

Nah not how it works. You'd have to spend money in the store to transfer servers. It's better if you just create a new account and relevel up to 30.

There's not really any macro combos per se in league of legends. Each champion has a different skill combo you'd execute. If someone sees you execute them too fast, they'll call you out for being a "scripter". If you want though, you can bind your items to your macro buttons on your mouse. That'll might be easier than pressing 1,2,3,4,5,6 etc, during a team fight when you have to concentrate on a billion things. For me personally, I main AD carry and while I don't have much items to activate, in a situation where I get CC, my muscle memory already has me immediately pressing "2" to activate my quicksilver sash item to remove debuffs. That might not be as easy for you.

Once you play the game, you'll get what I mean. But a quick rundown is you right click to move your champion to a spot on a map and or right click a target aka an enemy to attack it. Your spells are given by Q,W,E always, and your ultimate spell is R. When you're at your base, you can buy items to increase your combat stats/help you along the way, ie you can buy heath pots, move it to your "2" button, and after a small fight breaks out in your lane, if you feel that you need to heal up, you press 2 to drink your health pots.

 

The only real macro I can think of is something called "a-moving" or orb walking, but that's for when you wanna master kiting in LoL (which you should since this normally is the deciding factor between newbs who can't kite and those who can and therefore dish out more damage.)

LOL sorry I didn't answer.  On the bottom left of your game, you can drag your items around to correspond to the correct placement you want your items to be at. You can see the small little numbers in grey that indicate which keyboard button you press to activate that item.

 

The macro really isn't one. It's only one that COULD become a macro, but it's essentially made useless by just rebinding your attack move (which is a normal cast move) to attack-move-click (which is the quickcast version of this). Sorry I haven't seen your replies, been helping someone with a parts list.

 

I will just see how I do when the game finishes, I'll start off with Ashe and go from there. I'll try a character from each role. See if I'm a magic or an attack kind of guy. 

I'll have a look at that video you showed me, and just see what champions I prefer.

Just remember that people who flames are idiots with a temper problem or simply getting overemotional. Also, the game censors swears by default, you can

turn it off in the client options.

Here's the best example in practice, different game, but point still stands:

 

 

About what champions you should play, find those you enjoy, don't go for champions simply because they're strong. When there's a new champion rotation, try making a custom game with bots and see if you're interested. Also try to get a champions for each role, you can't always get what you want.

 

Something that's very important is that if it didn't work out the first time, it's probably not going to work out the second one, or third,,,or fourth. Sometimes you just have to play super safe and there's nothing you can really do about it. If you want to really improve, it's not going to happen simply by playing tons of matches. For example when you have a bad match, look at what you could have done better, even if it's clearly someone else that lost you the game.

 

As for macros, there's not really anything to put macro's on. There's a thing called scripting, it will execute combos inhumanely fast and can dodge attacks automatically. They're illegal though and you're a total dick if you use them. I suppose you could put certain keys on the macro buttons for easy access.

EDIT: I watched the video and I now know that Flaming is when you just say something really mean to someone on the other team. (or on your team)

As a 2 years old Plat II player, here are my advices

 

1. Start with simple champions (Ashe, Warwick, Darius, Caitlyn,.....). Also check the rotation champs for the week after lv 5 and pick your preferred champ

2. Pratice last hitting, reading minimaps, fast buying, kiting (as adc and some other champs),....

3. Play a lot, losing will also gives you a lot of experience later

4. NEVER FLAME, TROLL, SWEAR,... because someone else is trolling, feeding,.... You will only make matter worse, if teammates are flaming, just /muteall in chat and play the game yourself, if you are lucky enough you should be able to carry that game
