Windows useless after update

Sn0wBlind56
Go to solution Solved by Sn0wBlind56,

Thanks for the answers. The problem seems to have fixed itself after a couple more attempts to start Windows.

Today I installed 2 Windows updates while shutting down my computer (Windows 7 Professional SP 1 64-bit).

My computer boots successfully to the desktop, but when I try to click something (really anything at all) Windows just completely freezes.

I can't even open up the CTRL + ALT + DEL screen to launch task manager.

The only thing I can still do is move the mouse.

Booting in safe mode seemed to work and I could get to the "Installed updates" screen to check which updates I had installed: KB3021917 and KB3006137 (those were the ones with today's date in the "date installed" column).

The problem started occuring after the installation of the updates.

Everything worked fine before I shut down my pc. I already tried shutting it down 3 times by holding the power button.

Extra info:

- My pc is a HP ProBook 450 G0

I hope someone can help resolve this problem.

Thanks in advance

Maybe try leaving it on for a while to initialize the updates?

Try leaving it off for a week and turning it back on.

or...

What's the best way to roll them back? With a system restore point or by selecting the update and clicking "uninstall"?

I don't think it fix it self, windows updating is pretty much sucks in general, my first updating I have to wait for 6hours back and fourth, just to wait somthing shows up on my screen.

I'm guessing it still processing the update when you try to boot.

I already knew Windows update sucked but I didn't know it was this bad :P

It was just strange that even after the pc was on for a while it was still frozen.

I'm glad it's solved now.
