Great, thanks! I love the look of the MSI R9 270 Gaming too and it should be pretty quiet (Link). 

 

Is the r9 270 just a better overall performer then?

 

Yes , i have seen it being 10 fps faster in some games.

 

You can also OC it to 270x levels and at that point it isnt even a competition.

 

I have the 270x from MSI myself and its whisper quiet and very cool.

Just wondering everyone's opinions about if I should pick a GTX 750TI or a R9 270? Here in Denmark they can be had for the same price, and my (firm) budget is 165USD. 

I have heard people saying that they would pick a 750TI over a R9 270 and despite the R9 270 being more powerful. I have heard the 750TI can overclock better than the R9 270 and there is more headroom to do so. 

 

My main priority for my rig is that I want it to be quiet as possible under load and while still giving decent performance.

 

I have a thermaltake smart se 530w power supply, that should be sufficient for a single card?

r9 270 all day every day.

 

The 750 TI is only worth it if you PSU is a potato.

270 if you want to game pretty well, 750 ti if you want a low power draw system for non-gaming or low end gaming. A 750 ti overclocked is not as good as a 270. The 270 is closer to the gtx 760.

My brother has the 750 Ti 2GB GPU and it is an awesome card. I say you go for it instead of the R9 270, even if the later is powerful.

750ti is struggling unfortunately. I think Nvidia should replace it.

 

Get the 270.
