I need serious help with grounding a PSU to Mains.

Go to solution Solved by shanky887614,

on euro sockets the grounding pins are on the side so it will still go in

not all of europe uses the shuko socket that you are thinking of.

the french, german and swiss are all different.

the uk's bs 1363 is different agan.

you should be able to buy an iec lead with your local plug on the end or make one yourself

Hi, my first PC build is coming up and it turns out my wall outlet isn't grounded, but i need a grounded wall outlet for my PSU to work.

I was wondering if someone has this problem too and solved it, so help is REALLY apreciated. Sorry for my bad english.

----SPECS-----

-220/240v mains

-european (not an UK one.) outlet that isn't grounded

Then plug it into a grounded outlet or scratch off a bit of the PSU cover to expose bare metal, solder a little wire to it, and run that wire (protected with a rubber coat obviously) and attach it to a stake driven into the soil.

I'm almost certain they work on non grounded outlets

Edit: I am certain since I'm was using a non grounded outlet in Egypt which has the same plug as in Europe

Thats that. If you need to get in touch chances are you can find someone that knows me that can get in touch.

if you take the front plate off and it has a cpc (earth) you could swap the socket (plug a lamp in socket and flick breakers off till light goes out)

i would think it will be a b/c16 or b/c20 that will be the one

His connector has a grounding pin, but his socket doesn't have one. So he can't insert his connector into the socket.

And these are my type of connectors:

If by off to the side you mean that it does not sit in between the hot and cold wire, then yes.
