Why do streamers not cap their fps?

Why do (League of Legends) streamers not cap their fps?

Is it for bragging/show off?

Doesn't it only make the gpu work more for no reason?

why the hell would they? most play on the lowest settings just so the gameplay is completely lag free . vsync is out of the question

It makes it hotter, if the game is specially intensive I don't see a reason for making it work harder than it need.

There is other ways than V sync and it's not always bad.

Many older gamers feel that 125-250fps is only real fps. So capping it isn't really worth it in that sense. Besides that if you have to cap it in higher fps, you are most likely having trouble with fps dropping too much.

Its not gpu intensive game that could dmg the gpu and its lifespam. So no need for limits.

Pro LoL players have all gear from sponsors and 120+ refresh rate monitors so they dont need to give a single poo.

Why is it bothering u so much about how others use their gpu ? Not everybody is tech heavy and has to worry about their hardware.

Uncapping fps won't make a GTX 980 go to 100% load. Game isn't optimised enough, I range from 200-450 fps in League of Legends maxed out and my GPU runs at about 60 degrees.

Also it does minimise the chance of stuttering. However, I do cap my FPS on WoW to 144 and when I can either 60 or 144 on any other game also. I never did on league of legends because it never really occurred to me but I don't play League of Legends any more so it doesn't matter.

 

It all comes down to personal preference, I cap my FPS now. But some people don't care about the noise and or heat that comes from an uncapped frame rate.

The framerate you're playing at and the framerate you're streaming at are disjoint. You can run at 99fps and stream at 30. It makes no sense not to lock the streaming-framerate to a mulitple of 30 to reduce stuttering on the playback side.

I think it's because of the low entry level these days. Mostly just "donalds" streamingz. They wouldn't know what a framecap is if you told them.

Well, actually it does. Try uploading a 29fps video to youtube and watch it stutter like mad. The encoding fucks up the framerate pretty bad on the playback side. Locking it to a multitude of 30 is more pleasant to watch. Again, that does not mean you have to play at 30/60/90/120.
