Geekazoid
Go to solution Solved by Geekazoid,

Thanks guys for your help. I've been doing my own research and have found a good LG one that meets all of the requirements. My sister actually came across the exact same one, best part is, it retails for about $850 but is selling for about $700 :D. The one I've found is the LG 42LB5820.

Hi peeps,

So, my sister and brother-in-law are looking to buy their first lounge room main TV. Because they know how fussy I am about getting good quality products and not, well, crap products, I'm enlisting the help of this magnificent community to help me find a good quality TV for them. I realise that prices are more expensive here in Australia, but I know it is possible to find a decent AU$800 TV that will be their main TV for quite some time.

My requirements for them, for this TV, is that the TV has to have the following:

• IPS-like viewing angles and colours.

• Great contrast ratio (as they really love their movies).

• Great looking stand (I realise this is subjective to each persons taste).

• Would like it have a native 1080p display if possible but not so worried if it doesn't.

Now, I know some of you might suggest to go with Kogan for what I'm requesting, but I really want to avoid them, as it's pretty much a one-man operated business and the quality of their products are usually not that great. So please leave Kogan out of your suggestions. No amount of convincing is going to change my mind on this.......seriously!

Okay, well thanks in advance for your help guys. :)

Yeah, that's a good option, however, staying under or at the max budget of $800 AUD is a must. But I can certainly show them. :)
