Corsair h100i running at full speed and is blinking red! HELP!

Go to solution Solved by vern021,

the cpu is running at about 1% max load so...

Yeah it's probably the pump. Plug the pump straight to the PSU and check the temps. Uninstall the corsair link and throw it to the trash. Crappy software lol.

Alright so my corsair h100i is blinking red, fans are running at full speed at all times even thought the cpu temp goes down to 32 degrees C, and cpu temps go from 32 degrees C to around 46 degrees C.

I have no idea what could be wrong? Usb is pluged in but can't see it in corsair link so idk. Please HELP!

Running on Windows 8.1

Thanks in advance!

windows 8.1

I would suggest restarting your computer and seeing if it works then. And then Uninstalling Link then re-installing it.

Corsiar Link has many issues with Windows 8 and 8.1. I can't even control my fans or anything after I updated to 8.1.

Yea, I really can't help you. Corsair has not fixed it. The new update just made it worse.

Mine is stuck with a yellow light on and I can't do anything.

It's weird that your temperatures are rising with the fans on full speed. Don't know what to do, have you tried contacting Corsair about it?

How about uninstalling the corsair link, throw the installer to the dump, and using your motherboard pwm headers to control the fans and plugging in the pump to PSU. Did you try that?

I have uninstalled corsair link then re installed it but I'm not concerned about the fan speeds I'm concerned about why my h100i is flashing red and my cpu temps.

Looking on that, I think you have a problem with the pump. If the fans are at full speed all the time and your CPU temps have a whopping 14c difference from min to max, your pump might not be running at full speed. Are those temps underload or on full load? Run Intel Burn Test to see of your temps are spiking erratically or not.

It might be that it's not full connected (or mounted):

1. see if the micro-USB cable is fully inserted into the cooling head

2. See if the USB header is properly aligned and inserted into the motherboard

-

1. See if the cooling head itself is properly aligned and tightened; not sideways or loose.

Yeah it's probably the pump. Plug the pump straight to the PSU and check the temps. Uninstall the corsair link and throw it to the trash. Crappy software lol.

Try to plug the pump at the PSU itself and check if the temps are high. Check if you can hear different noises coming out from the pump. If both of what I said fits, you should probably RMA your CPU Cooler.
