Swap Intel DG motherboards

Go to solution Solved by d3sl91,

My question is simple, i think; Is it possible to swap an Intel Desktop Board DG41RQ with an Intel Desktop Board DG965SS without any hassel? Like, would Windows 8.1 detect everything normally and boot up? I know that there will be driver issues, but can't we just install those drivers and be on our way? If you must know why im downgrading a mobo, it is because my friend is in need of more ram; he only has 2gb. And for now, i am lending him my old Intel DG965SS that has 4 ddr2 slots and I have 4 x 1gb's of ram with that board. (MY DG BOARD IS 8 YEARS young, holy crud)

If you have any other reasonable questions, please feel free to ask.

I miss my intel boards :(

But yeah, it should work. Back up important stuff and give it a try. It will more than likely ask for you to reactivate windows.
