Go to solution Solved by Malcolm,

I managed to fix it. There seemed to be a problem with the nic card. After i switched to the onboard one, everything seemed to be fixed. I dont know why, but it seems the problem was the nic

Hi guys, i hope i chose the correct group for this post.

Anyway, a couple of minutes ago, i noticed that my network monitor on my pc was indicating that large ammounts of bandwith was being used. All my apps that usually use up a lot of bandwith were stopped immidiately and i made sure that everything was closed.

I downloaded wireshark so i could find where my data was being sent and when i typed the ip that was accessing the data on chrome, it said that i don't have access. I immidiately unplugged the rj45 cable from my pc so it is not connected to the enternet

I was wondering how to prevent these attacks from happening(firewall was turned on)

Also, i would like to know if there is a way to reverse the attacks.

I am new to this toppic and i am greatful for your help

oh damn it, you noticed

Now to be serious, the data was coming from your PC or a device on the network? Do a screen shot of all MAC addresses on the network.

Intel 4790k | Asus Z97 Maximus VII Impact | Corsair Vengeance Pro Series 16 GB 1866Mhz | Asus Strix GTX 980 | CoolerMaster G550 |Samsung Evo 250GB | Synology DS215j (NAS) | Logitech G502 |

I chacked and there is only one mac adress. I am not an expert but in my oppineon, no data is being stolen but it is just sending and recieving random packets to slow down my connection

I agree. I actually like reading through PCAPs, however, I've seen some weird traffic in them 'cause people didn't think "Oh, I'm gonna send this tech a file that show my network traffic, maybe I shouldn't watch tranny pr0n while it runs"*.
