Motherboard dead/malfunction

Go to solution Solved by Enderman,

ASRock isn't bad, but it is not as reputable or well knows an others like evga, gigabyte, or asus.

I would switch to a different motherboard manufacturer if I were you.

Is it possible to RMA the board? Or did the warranty expire?

I have an asrock extreeme 3 motherboard (or something like that) and whenever I try to plug in a usb device it will sometimes freeze my whole system. Now it has been doing this for awhile and it has finally become a significant problem. After the last time it did freeze up my three storage devices that run off of the sata ports arent' being detected. Now I know it is possible they could've failed, but all three at once seems like some witchcraft. So my second thought was that my sata ports were shitting themselves. I should also mentions that this board had 2 usb 3.0 ports on the back that stoped working a long time ago. I can still boot into the bios, and i've reset the bios at least three times now. Has anyone else suffered from this type of problem on an asrock board or am I just lucky.

I've never really seen any motherboard reviews on asrock boards on linus's channel so i'm kinda scared that asrock isn't a good brand.\

My processor is an fx 8320 amd something amount of pins because I can't remember.

This is my opinion, it doesn't mean I'm right and is liable to change at any time. I may offend of which I apologize in advance.

Yeah it is definitely an issue with the motherboard. Other people have had good experiences with ASRock, but it seems you got unlucky. :(

Wait a 360 controller caused it?

AMD FX-6300, Radeon HD 7770, ECS A970M-A Deluxe, 8GB 1866MHz RAM, 500W Antec Basiq

Interesting... One time I connected wired 360 controller and the power supply exploded. Consoles trying to hurt PC master race?

Anyway, I just built a PC for my brother with the same socket. MSI boards are great from my experience.

AMD FX-6300, Radeon HD 7770, ECS A970M-A Deluxe, 8GB 1866MHz RAM, 500W Antec Basiq

Your processor is fine, and will be fine for at least a couple more years. Just upgrade your motherboard to an AM3+ board from ASUS, EVGA, MSI, or Gigabyte.

I personally like ASUS, but hose are the top 4 brands on the market, and all have good customer support incase anything happens to your board.
