Do I have a memory hole if so how to fix?

Chrome is the issue

Recently I noticed that my PC has been using about 7 of my 8 gigs of ram when I game which introduces LONG load times, and lag spikes sometimes. I was thinking of getting another 8 gigs and get 16 gigs of ram but I feel like there might be a way to fix this. I don't know much about memory holes though so I really need some help here, because in Task Manager it doesn't seem possible that I can be using 7 gigs of ram based on adding it up. It also seems like it's fine at startup only using 2 gis maybe 3 of ram but it slowly accumulates up to this point at 7 gigs and no more being used.

Playing a game should only take about 3-4GB of RAM so something else is causing all the RAM usage.

That's what I figured I mainly play World of Tanks and that tanks about 1-2 gigs but something else seems to be the issue like you said.

the game you are running is about 1gb, chrome about 2 so yeah i think it is not out of the ordinary. so the rest of your system is using about 4gb.

I personally wouldn't run most of those background app but that is a personal choice as to whether you think it offers a noticeable benefit.

The only programs I have running usually is Skype, TeamSpeak3, Chrome.

I might try to stop using Chrome for awhile and use FireFox again.

I had a similar issue with Chrome.

As I was browsing my RAM usage would keep going up and up, and it wouldn't go down when I closed Chrome. After an hour or so, I'd have all 8 GB of RAM full and games were impossible to run..

Switching to firefox fixed the issue.

i7 not perfectly stable at 4.4.. #firstworldproblems

Skype is also pretty RAM heavy being that it's mainly a video calling platform.

In my experience it used about 1GB then again I stopped using it due to it not being the best option for VOIP with friends. We all switched to Razer Comms.

I haven't personally programmed it I've just learned a few things about it. I've only programmed in C#(which I use Visual Studio for) Javascript(Which I use Unity 3D for) and html(Which I just mess around on websites with).
