A10 5800k vs A8 6600k

Go to solution Solved by Benjio,

CPU-wise they are very similar it seems, probably not a very noticeable difference between them. GPU-wise (if you are using integrated graphics and not a dedicated card) the 7660d on the 5800k is a bit better than the 8570d on the 6600k. If they are the same price I'd probably go with the 5800k. I have a 5800k and I'm very pleased with it. If you are using a dedicated graphics card, you shouldn't be buying either of these, either get an athlon or switch to a different socket.

Hey guys,

I'm considering to buy an AMD APU for around 100$, and I saw these two on the same price in a shop:

On one hand it's the A10 5800k and on the other the A8 6600k.

Which one performs better overall?

I already know that the new A10 6800k performs around 10% better than the 5800k, but I have no clue about the 6600k versus 5800k.

I hope you guys can help me.

I'm sorry for every mistake I made in the sentences above. If you find any, you can keep it for yourself or share with the world :-)

The A8 6600k should perform a tiny bit better (within margin of error). Get the A8, it's cheaper.

Thanks for your very quick reply!

So I'm going with the A10 5800k.

Good choice, I believe 5800K has 384 GPU cores (VLW4) @ 800mhz while 6600K has 256 VLIW4 cores

Thanks. I wasn't sure which GPU performs better with their respective amount of cores.
