Choosing SSDs

Go to solution Solved by kingdorian,

Hmm, so is the MX100 like $20 worth better performance/reliability wise?

Yes. :) Also it has power loss protection so all you're data is stored when you loose power (also bsod I think).

I have like 4GB left on my current SSD (and have for a while) and really should upgrade :P
I would like a 240-256GB SSD to clone the current contents of my 128GB Kingston hyperx to so I can re-purpose it in another PC, and because 4GB of free space is definitely not a good idea :P

Currently I'm thinking either the Crucial MX100 or the Kingston hyperx 3k. The Kingston is only $10 more, and comes with a watch doge, so if it's roughly equal to the crucial I'll go for that. But other suggestions are definitely appreciated. I live in New Zealand, so suggestions must ship to here, or be available here (though amazon is cheaper even with shipping, $151NZD for kingston w/doge, yet the crucial is $165NZD here)

OP how about taking the approach of using the SSD for boot and whatever else and then having a storage drive?
