Need help with obtaining Windows 8.1 ISO.

I posted the same question a week or so ago and I'm still confused as to how to obtain it. 

 

Someone posted this link with instructions -> http://www.cnet.com/uk/how-to/how-to-download-the-official-microsoft-windows-8-1-iso/

 

I'm confused as to how using the product key works. In the instructions it says to install windows 8 and type in your product key and then cancel installation. How does this affect the validity of the product key? Does this mean I can no longer use the product key because I used it in the windows 8 installation but I cancelled it?

 

How do you guys obtain an ISO for windows (I'd prefer not to download it as I'm not sure I can trust a windows 8.1 ISO download)?

I used TechNet's ISO with a valid key, and it works fine...

Is it legal to download an ISO and then put in a product key that you paid for?

As long as the ISO is from a legal place, I don't see why not.

Argh, then I can't help you.

 

But, you should be able to do it and still have your key be valid. If it claims that it isn't when you go to install it, then just give Microsoft a ring.
