LawrenceBarnes2013
Go to solution Solved by harrynowl,

never thought of Maplin's. Better than currys anyway.

Yea Currys/PCworld will recommend GT620 and i7 machines for gaming.

@LawrenceBarnes2013 you're best off looking at Amazon.co.uk to get an idea of what you'll have to pay for each card.

witch is a.. ?

not Currys or any big shop like that.

Small independent businesses will have better luck getting you cards.

In the UK we generally don't get too great a deal compared to US. Your £350 (after conversion - also remember commissions so Google's rate might not be the same) will get you a R9 290 and perhaps a GTX780 on offer or from a smaller brand like PNY, Gainward or KFA2.

I don't know any businesses in the London. I don't live there. But those places do exist there.

welcome to shopping around. Finding the best deal. Big names are not good to tech from because they know absolutely nothing.

Try Maplin's. Personally I'd keep it in USD and buy a card from your own country, that way you get a warranty also :P

So for the UK, a lot of people I know actually go to shops and ask them to specifically order a graphics card through them. Normally this helps on shipping costs and lets you buy it at the MSRP price. So if your brother cannot find a decent deal, I'd probably ask if he can try to do this. If he's there long enough.

If you could tell everyone exactly what city he's going to, maybe we can find a aftermarket computer store which will be easily accessible to him.

Yes, I agree. Your brothers' probably not going to be able to order online, so if he's there for long enough he could ask at somewhere like Maplins (who have an online store) to get a GTX 780 in stock for you.

That's a GTX 770, not a GTX 780 Ti.
