OBS issues

Go to solution Solved by ohJey,

you can edit scene and stretch the corner to make it bigger, but you're gonna have to find a way to make the games display in 16:9

I'm trying to record project 64 using OBS, but it comes out with some weird resolution that doesnt fit the screen. It shrinks itself down and positions itself in the top right corner. Any ideas why and how i can fix it?

Are you using the "record window" or "record monitor" option?

Oh, I just looked at your specs.

Doesn't AMD have a recorder too? Wait, maybe not.

C'mon, play nice now. I plan on upgrading to an nvidia gpu soon, but first i need a new cpu. But lets not get into a fan fight. I just need help with this issue.

No insults meant, just looking for answers instead of an argument as to why nvidia is better. I fully agree, but my budget was tight when i got this gpu so i got what i could. Anyhow, any suggestions?

shadowplay only works with fullscreen directx games...using the x264 encoder in OBS will get you better quality video anyways.

also, the monitor/window capture gives you less performance than the game capture option. not sure if this will work with project64, but you could try

im using x264, and ive also tried the game capture option. still no luck. i tried it with other games too, and they all came out looking like this. i tried it on my 8800gt, still looks like this. i have no clue what to try.

those are the settings I use to stream my games when I play fullscreen. I play @ 1080p 120fps, but I stream @ 720p 60 fps.

try to do this with a game/window capture

you start OBS, on whatever window you want to stream, you press F12 and OBS will start capturing that window.

Holy damn 780 Ti's do exist......That just gives me a black screen. I think I'm doomed to having no OBS in my current rig.

i may just have to record then edit them to fit, but thanks for the help.

You can edit scene while previewing. But if game doesn't have native 16:9 resolution I advise against trying to make it look like such with OBS. You just end strecthing it.
